“OK guys here’s the story, back In June I put a set of STI HD deadlocks, a set of 30″ STI Roctanes, and the SuperATV 3″ lift on my kitty and loved the setup due to the extra ground clearance and the overall badazz look.

I left the springs set at the factory setting and overall I had 17″ ground clearance up front and 15″ in the rear, well six months and several hundred miles later the Roctanes started leaking air so bad that three of the four would have zero air in them after being parked for three to four days.

I got tired of constantly airing them back up so I contacted the tire distributor and after many emails of pictures and whatnot they told me they would warranty them but they highly recommended that I did not get another set of Roctanes because I would just have the same problem.

After all, I was running bead locks, well I looked at other tires, asked questions, did the usual many hours of research, and finally decided I was going to try the Pro Armor Crawler XG’s.

Immediately while mounting them it was very obvious that they fit the tire much much tighter because they gave me a fit (unlike the Roctanes did when I originally mounted them), well since then I’ve logged at least one hundred to one hundred and fifty miles on them and I have to say I am very happy with them.

The tread is pretty aggressive but not as bad as a straight mud tire, they dig very well in mud and will climb rocks as well if not better than the Roctanes did.

The side walls are very aggressive and are very well protected, in fact in addition to the tread on the side walls two belts run the entire side wall.

I’ve ridden on easy trails, hard trails, extreme trails, hard pack dirt, mud, asphalt, almost everything on and e will ride on (except sand in the dunes), and the tires have done awesome, they are much smoother and nowhere near as loud on the roadway…….

Now let us talk about the cons because hey, everything has cons right !?

They DO NOT measure a true 30″ unless you have twenty or more psi in them, I run six to seven psi in them and as you will see in the picture below they measure 28 1/2 to 28 5/8, also mounted on the STI HD deadlocks they are 9 3/4 inches wide.

Now since they don’t measure true to size I lost one full inch of ground clearance so now I’m at 16″ in the front and 14″ in the back and I have been able to tell on some of the usual trails I ride, it hasn’t been such a difference that I have trouble now but my skid plates do get hit in some places they did not with the Roctanes.

As far as weight I can tell the Crawlers are a little lighter than the Roctanes too. Overall I do recommend the tires and the only thing I have found that I dislike is they aren’t true to size, but they are supposed to be releasing a 32″ version of the same tire and I will be very interested in them.

I also measured the circumference of the old tires and the new tires to see how much the diameter change would be. (circumference divided by 3.14= diameter)

My stock front 26x9x12 Polaris PXT tires were pretty worn and measured 76.5″ crcm. or 24.38″ diameter.

My new front 25x8x12 Carlisle all trail tires measure 78″ crcm. or 24.84″ diameter. (1/2″ bigger than stock tires)

My stock rear 26x11x12 Polaris PXT tires measured 79″ cram. or 25.14″ diameter.

I have about 400 miles so far. I ride about half off the road and half on the pavement.

The machine rolls so much easier that I have to use the parking brake almost all the time now.

I was getting about 12 MPG with the stock Polaris PXT tires. Now I am getting 19.5 MPG!!!!

And I can tell you that when I loaded up the bed of my Ranger with a lot of weight with the stock tires this machine was all over the place.
