“OK, I got them with the used car that I bought recently. I was surprised by how well they handle dry conditions, I have driven them for 5000 km so far.

The tires I got on the car are from the end of 2022, I think they were driven for like 20-25000 km. Still, all of them have 6.5mm tread depth.

Finally, I thought, no more special winter and summer set. But, under the rainy and wet conditions, I noticed dangerous oversteering of the rear end of the car.

I have to say the tires handle well straight aquaplaning, braking, etc, the issue happens when you are taking some curve (eg. You go from a highway to a normal road, taking the long curve) and what I can handle easily at dry conditions, at 50 km/h speed and wet, I would lose rear traction at my rear end.

“The DWS06+ I’d buy again if in the market for a fun and sporty all-season tire. The wet performance is superb – confident handling with responsive braking.

On our latest road trip, we had a stretch of curvy motorways after rainfall and the car felt like with was suctioned to the surface. Even with a full acceleration from a stop, there is no spin or slip.

Dry performance is enjoyable also, the grip on the road can be felt right through the seat, it transfers well in cornering, and is thrilling with on-ramps.

In essence, whether it’s by throttle or wheel, what the car is commanded to do this tire follows the order (with a grin!).

The responsiveness and feedback are quite satisfactory, I can’t say what it’s like as it’s the only tire I’ve driven (other than the Hankook except for EVO3 winter tires).

But when the tires are set to the manual-recommended pressures of 38F/32R, the driving experience is truly enjoyable.

Small imperfections and bumps in the road are soft and dull but you certainly know it, larger imperfections leave it on you but the tire takes the first edge off nicely.

At -2psi, the ride is sluggish and cornering has a soft feel, at the max load pressures (41/38) the ride is uncomfortably harsh and vague.

When the car was acquired the tires had 7 mm tread height, and now after 10,000km driven the blocks are at 5mm (new is 7.8mm).

Seems acceptable given a general low-risk driving style and never testing the limits of grip when my lady is in the car, but having the occasional fun drive on the country roads in Sport mode 🙂

I bought this one as they were very well priced and the new Michelin Cross Climate 2 was not (yet) available in the required size, to be used as a Winter alternative to the Pilot Sport 4.

Once again, using an All-Season tire proved to be the right choice for this particular car and location (Southeast England) especially when compared to the full winter set of SottoZero 3 I had before.

These tires are, it seems, fairly unknown in the testing/reviewing world as I see the regular Quatrac (and the old 5) which have a different tread pattern everywhere (including here on tire reviews), but potentially a similar compound mix (@Jonathan – this one is for you, can you include the UHP pattern of the Quatrac Pro on a review?

– Not fascinating in feel and feedback but very progressive and allows to play or position the car mid-corner as if wearing a set of summers;

– Rolling resistance and noise are not brilliant;

– Despite my very limited experience with this particular set, they did not seem to be the kind of all-season that enjoys snow and ice…

They are just ok to take you out until you reach a gritted surface but I wouldn’t take them much further for a snowy hill adventure.

Conclusion: These tires are a unicorn for small hot hatches that rarely see any snow, but have the need to park their ultra-high-performance summer tires for the winter, or like to be safe with a get-out-of-jail card.

The grip levels in both dry and wet are always higher than expected at both low and mild temperatures, and they seemed very progressive.

I wouldn’t take them out for a remote snowy location as I feel that it isn’t at all the aim of these tires but I can imagine them being able to perform well in a technical circuit for a winter track day and that says a lot.

“Dangerous and excessive wear. Go read other 1-star reviews and you’ll see that very accelerated wear is common, especially with Pilot Sport A/S tires installed over the past 6 months.
