“This is my 2nd set of the Defender LTX and they are the best tire I have ever had. Smooth, quiet, and great in all weather. Also wears great. I have tried Goodyear, Firestone, and Hankook–were so bad I drove out of the dealer and right to a tire store to trade them in for the Michelin Defender.
I tried them once and they lasted 25k miles. Terrible high-speed ride and noisy. Never again. Also over the years Dunlop and Continental. All garbage tires. Either failed or a lousy ride especially at high speeds.
Two sets of Goodyears had cracks in the sidewall the first year of having them. Goodyear said nothing they could do.
The one time I had Dunlop on a trip the tires had a terrible high-speed shake. I stopped at a tire dealer during my trip and they confirmed the 2 tires were bad.
Since all these tire problems over the years, I will only put Michelins on my cars!!”Review

“Purchased these tires twice, the first time on a 2011 Honda Pilot Touring, which only went 10,000 miles or so when I sold the car. So when my 2014 Honda Pilot needed tires after the originals wore out at 22,000 miles, I bought these again.
I am now at 92,000 miles and still have 5/32nds left. They are just starting to make noise and will need to be replaced sooner than later. My kids are with me all the time, so it will be sooner, as we are going into winter and don’t want to worry about traction.
I’m going to try the LX25s, I’m sure they will perform as well or better. These are a great tire, and the 70,000 miles I got on them was sure worth the money I paid for them.”Just Jon
I figured I’d take the time to review this tire now that I’ve owned it for 2.5 years and 45k miles. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the tire. All these jokers who say they wear uneven are either under/over-inflating or have suspension/alignment issues.
I have these tires on a 2013 F150 2WD and I have had ZERO issues with wear, vibrations, or anything. I’ve even taken them down gravel roads and beat them up on small “babyhead” rocks on forest roads in Pisgah National Forest.
“With 45k miles on them, the tire looks approximately at half wear, which is about right since it is a 70k mile tire. On my specific truck, I have always run 36 psi in the front and 35 psi in the rear based on the weight of my vehicle and “eyeballing” the pad size to the pavement.
If you take the time to keep your tires properly inflated, even if checking once a month, you WILL get the life out of these tires. They provide great dry traction and surprisingly great wet traction. It doesn’t snow here, so I cannot comment on that front.
The only complaint, if it is one, is that I have small chips in the rubber from taking them on gravel roads. It isn’t affecting the ride at all though, so meh.”Oubbascooba
3. Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II:

Load Range: SL-XL
Load Index:100-116
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Warranty:65000

After test-driving numerous models, the Scorpion Verde II stood out for its ability to transmit stable traction in dry conditions, wet pavement, and even light snow.
Pirelli tires are renowned for their tread compound, which grips nicely while resisting wear – I’ve noticed hardly any tear or damage even after miles of rough driving.
The tread pattern itself is optimized to channel water away efficiently, preventing hydroplaning situations when roads are slick. This leads to pleasant, comfortable rides even through rainy weather. On loose gravel and dirt, the Scorpion Verde II maintains composure where some highway-focused tires lose their footing.
Beyond traction, I’ve been impressed by how much these tires improve steering precision and lateral stability during sudden maneuvers.
Even when forced to swerve sharply or brake hard, the SUV reacts reliably and tracks straight thanks to the Pirelli design. This gives every user peace of mind out on remote backroads.
A bonus is that the advanced compound and contours lower rolling resistance, boosting overall fuel efficiency on lengthy trips.
For an SUV tire optimized for longevity across pavement and dirt, gravel, grass, and uneven terrain, I recommend drivers give the versatile, smooth-handling Scorpion Verde II a look. Pirelli hit a home run with this model.

“These tires were installed on a 1995 Nissan SEV6 pickup truck that I am restoring. Before the tire installation, the noise of the tires was loud and the handling was horrible. I was afraid to drive on the freeway and 55 mph was tops! After installation, it was a different vehicle. Road noise went way down, and handling way, way up. These tires prove that buying a good quality tire makes all the difference.”Thomas M

“Outstanding tire. I have them on my 2014 Jeep Patriot AWD. They are fantastic in the snow and never once hydroplaned. I could drive into a puddle 6″ deep at speed and they would maintain traction. Tread life was something like 60,000 miles.
I could have gone another 10K but I am cautious about tires. They are the weakest link in the chain. 2 stars for the noise. They sound like mud or AT tires which ironically they are not.
I had them out in the desert and the tread pattern is such that in the sand, they glide over the surface. Horrible off-road tire. Magic on the pavement in any condition. Worthy of the $175 price tag. On my 2nd set.”William

“I’ve just returned from a 1400-mile round trip out of the state of which 700 miles was the return trip pulling a twelve-foot long U-Haul trailer fully loaded with household furniture including a heavy piano, all from an estate.
I am delighted with my decision to purchase these 4 Falken Wildpeak H/T, 10-ply, LT 275X65RX20 tires for my Ford F150 Lariat.
These tires much to my surprise, have the deepest tread of any tire I have ever seen and I’ve been around over 75 years long enough to have seen many new tires.
With this exceedingly deep tread, I’m comfortable in thinking these tires will live up to their 60,000-mile wear rating as long as I keep them rotated regularly, alignment checked frequently, and properly inflated. These new tires caught the eye of my brother-in-law down in SC which was our trip’s destination.
Well, after his reluctant compliment, I proceeded to let him know all about Simple Tire .com, the price I paid, the mounting, balancing, and old tire disposal, all arranged with several tire shops near his residence several of which he perhaps was already familiar, I could see his perked-up newfound interest! With 99% certainty, I believe the Simple Tire people will have a new customer when tires are needed for his truck down there in South Carolina.”Joe

“I have tried just about every tire out there and I can tell you this, these tires are by far the best tires I have ever purchased,
I read all the reviews on them I could find and not one of them spoke about how these have a rim guard like that of an ATV tire, the rim sits back almost a half inch which is something
I didn’t know till they pulled my car out, I was very impressed when I saw them on my car, these tires not only function better than any tire I have used but they look better, nice and smooth on the side wall, there are not all kinds of raised lettering and funky looking design patterns,
they take tire treatment like no other and look amazing, not to mention how easy they are to keep clean.
Driving the car for the first time I immediately noticed the steering sensitivity, was so much better than my Goodyear’s I replaced, the braking was improved, overall handling and cornering were better, and the ride at 80mph on the highway was a dream come true, so smooth and quiet,
these tires were priced the same as my top-of-the-line Goodyear’s if not cheaper than any other tire on this level of quality and tread miles warranty, when I saw the 45-day money-back guarantee I figured heck mise we’ll try them, now I see why they offer that because there is no way in heck you won’t like them. I am very happy with these tires, so glad I did my homework and looked around, this was the tire I was trying to find,
Toyo is the only tire I will be buying in the future, I drive an AWD 3.6 GMC Terrain with Camaro stock 18s and I went to my dealer and bought 245/60/18s, this is the perfect setup on this car, and had them installed and I’m glad I did, basic tire shops,
basically all tire shops besides dealers put the weights on the outside edge in the inside of the wheel, dealers don’t, they put their weights on the flat spot on the middle of the wheel, trust me, people, if you want your tires balanced perfectly as I do, take you vehicle to the quality tire shop and ask them how they balance their tires to make sure, dealers have a special balance machine
I forgot what it’s called maybe rock guard or something because it takes into consideration typical road conditions, what a difference, 0-80 mph an absolutely zero wheel or tire wobble on my car. My car has 22,000 miles and brand-new rims with these tires, I couldn’t be happier. Thanks, Toyo, hard to find companies that give you your money’s worth.”Tommy724

“This will be my second set of the SRX Cooper tires on one of my trucks. The first set I owned I got 90k miles on them and can verify with the dealer I purchased them from, rotated every time I changed my oil.
I primarily do highway driving, but from time to time go off-road. These tires are great on dry pavement, and wet conditions and do a good job in snow.
They lack a little traction on and off the road but for everything else they offer it’s not a bad compromise. They are very quiet and smooth.”BWT

“My truck usually stays on the pavement so I was looking for a good, grippy road tire. At the time there wasn’t much available for an 18″ wheel that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Got a GEOLANDER HTX (I think) and loved it. When it was time for a new set I tried to get them again.
They said the GO15 was the next version and had a better score. “They” were right. I LOVE THESE TIRES! They grip the road well whether it is wet or dry. They are VERY quiet. VERY! They are reasonably priced and they look good!
Last week I had to drive through a muddy field. Saw a few people stuck. I’m not saying I wasn’t nervous, but these tires got me out of there just fine.
Then they got me home safe and sound for 183 miles in the rain. My wife and kid have street trucks and they too ride on G015s. 45 years of driving and it is my favorite tire of all. Oh, and despite a lead foot, the last set lasted 6 years and 55K miles…..outside in the Texas sun.”OBR

Choosing All-Season Tires for SUV: Buying Guide
1. Understanding All Season Tires
Let’s look at the basics of all-season tires, which are flexible friends that can withstand a variety of road conditions. From sun-kissed highways to rain and snow, these tires try to handle it all. Unleash your curiosity and learn about the benefits of all-season tires, which make them the preferred choice for SUV owners throughout the year.
2. Tread Life.
When buying new tires, consider the treadwear rating. This rating indicates the number of miles you can drive before the tread depth wears down. A greater treadwear rating, such as 80,000 miles, indicates that the tires will last longer. Choose all-season tires with the highest treadwear rating that meets your budget.
3. Traction
Make sure you purchase SUV tires that provide enough traction all year. Look for tires with zigzag or interlocking tread blocks, as well as sipes, which are thin gaps in the blocks that allow them to grab the road. Deep tread depth also improves traction. Avoid tires with shallow treads since they tend to slip and slide.
4. Snow Performance
If you frequently drive your SUV in light snow, acquire all-season tires with the “3-peak mountain snowflake” logos, which shows that the tire has been certified for usage in snow. For better traction on snowy roads, make sure the tread depth is at least 8 mm.
5. Wet performance.
You want your SUV tires to have good grip and stopping strength on wet roads. Look for all-season tires with temperature-sensitive tread composition, which keeps the tread malleable in cold, wet weather for additional safety. A tread design with centered grooves also helps to divert water away from the tire’s underside.
FAQs
How often should I replace my SUV’s all-season tires?
Even if your all-season SUV tires do not appear worn out, you should replace them every 5-6 years or after the tread depth has gone down to 2/32 inches. Tires degrade naturally with time. Replacing them on time helps to avoid blowouts and loss of traction.
Are higher-priced all-season SUV tires better?
Not always, but high-quality tire makers such as Michelin and Bridgestone invest significantly in research and rigorous testing. As a result, their premium SUV tires perform admirably and are well worth the additional expense if they are within your budget. However, you can discover superb budget-friendly solutions too.
Should I get studless SUV tires for winter use?
It depends on how frequently you drive in thick snow or ice. Studless winter SUV tires perform effectively in light to moderate snow and are less likely to harm roads than studded tires. If you frequently encounter severe winter weather, consider investing in separate winter tires with metal studs.
Should I get the same all-season tires that came with my SUV?
Not necessarily; you can look at different brands and models that are better suited to your specific driving needs. However, to ensure optimum load carrying and handling, stick to the tire specifications prescribed by your SUV manufacturer.
How much does an all-season SUV tire generally cost?
A solid pair of all-season tires for a midsize SUV costs between $150 and $250 per tire. High-end tires specifically designed for luxury SUV performance can cost more than $300 per tire.
